The Dictionary Editor
The Dictionary Editor manages spelling dictionaries used for spell check.
It has four sections:
The Search Box searches spelling entries in the current Spelling Dictionary.
- To search for an entry, enter your search term into
the
Search Box. The software will automatically
search and select the closest entry in the
Spelling Dictionary as you type.
The File Tabs manage all open Spelling dictionaries.
- If a file is locked, you can only delete entries from the
file. You cannot add new entries into the file, nor can you
modify existing entries.
The Spelling Dictionary shows all the words in the current
dictionary.
- The list can be sorted in both ascending and
descending order. Click the Column Header to change the order.
The Detail Area shows the current spelling entry and
allows you to modify it.

Plain Text Files for Import / Export
A plain text file that Asutype imports/exports words from/to is a plain ANSI or UNICODE text file (i.e. no formatting information such as bold, italic, tables, images etc. - you can use NotePad to create a plain text file) with each word in a single line. Lines starting with a semicolon (;) are comment lines. Blank lines and comment lines will be ignored when importing. For example:
