The Suggestion Pop-up

The Suggestion Pop-up shows you some choices and possible actions you may take to handle the current typing mistake.

Asutype shows the suggestion pop-up in either mode below:

Note:

• The default mode is "Interactively with pop-up and type". You can change the mode using the Mistake Corrections Options dialog box.
• You can change any hot key by using the Hot Keys Options dialog box.
• You can change the type face, font size and colors by using the Mistake Flagging Options dialog box.

How To...

Activate the Suggestion Pop-up

• In Interactive Correction mode, Asutype automatically shows you the suggestion pop-up if you make a mistake while typing.
• At any time, you can activate the suggestion pop-up for an on-screen mistake by either:
• Hold down the Control key then right click the mistake using your mouse.
• Or, place the caret over the mistake and press <CTRL+SHIFT+A+W>

Close the Suggestion Pop-up

Either:

• Press <ESCAPE> key on the keyboard
• Or, press <SPACE> twice
• Or, select a choice (see below)
• Or, take an extra action (see below)

Select a Choice

Either:

• Press the choice number
• Or, click the choice using your mouse
• Or, select the choice using arrow keys and press <ENTER>

Delete the mistake and retype

• Press <DELETE> key on the keyboard

View more suggestions

If your intended word is not listed, press the <LEFT> and <RIGHT> arrow keys on the keyboard to view more suggestions.

Recognize a new correct word

If the highlighted word is valid but Asutype does not recognize it, you might want to add it into your own spelling dictionary and have it correctly recognized the next time.

• Press <F2> to add the word into the current hot spelling dictionary.
• Press <CTRL+F2> to choose another dictionary. The newly selected dictionary will become the current hot spelling dictionary.

Recognize a new mistake

For frequent mistakes, you might want to add the mistake along with its correction into your own correction list and have it automatically corrected the next time you make the same mistake again.

• Select the proper choice using arrow keys and press <0> to add it into the current hot correction list.
• Press <CTRL+0> to choose another list. The newly chosen list will become the current hot correction list.

Recognize a new text shortcut

If you think the mistake is a text abbreviation that you might want to use to expand a text shortcut, you can create a text shortcut with this abbreviation so Asutype will automatically expand it for you the next time you type the abbreviation.

• Press <F3> to define the full text and add it into the current hot shortcut list.
• Press <CTRL+F3> to choose another shortcut list. The newly chosen list will become the current hot shortcut list.
